 The Building Community Services that Grow Local Economies Project (BCS) is a collaboration between Action, Inc, Community Connection of NortheastGeorgia and the Institute for Nonprofit Organizations in the School of Social Work at the University of Georgia. Over the two year project period, we will provide training and specialized technical assistance to 60 community and faith based nonprofits in Barrow, Clarke, Elbert, Greene and Jackson Counties that are working on economic recovery issues. The training and technical assistance is focused on building the capacity of organizations to better provide their services. At least 30 organizations will also receive financial assistance in the form of grants. This is a competitive grant (you must meet specific qualifications; awardees are chosen by a selection committee. There are two cycles to the project. We are currently providing training and technical assistance to 29 organizations; 18 are receiving financial assistance.
